Why is education mandatory?

Why is education mandatory? Shouldn’t it be up to individuals or parents to decide if they want to pursue it?

Do you have any illiterate people in your village or country?
Because for me in my state I often encounter people who are not educated even in middle school. What do I see in them? Do you want to know? Obviously yes.
The guys are annoying and they can’t even relate with other people in the society well.

Although most people view education as the way of securing employment in the future, the main role of education is to raise responsible citizens who can relate to other people well and be responsible of their lives.

Actually, that is not the primary goal of compulsory schooling. From the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights, which captures the opinions of its member states:

Everybody is entitled to an education. At the very least, free primary and basic education is required. It will be mandatory to receive an elementary education. All people should have equal access to technical and professional education, and higher education should be granted based only on merit.

Education should focus on fostering respect for fundamental freedoms and human rights as well as the complete development of the individual.

Education is required because it gives people important skills for jobs and helps them think critically and grow personally. It also makes sure everyone can read and understand things, which helps society stay together and be strong economically, making life better for everyone.
