Anyone else feeling stuck after finishing school and no job yet?

I’m feeling really down lately because I’ve worked hard to get an education, but I’m still struggling to find a job. It’s been frustrating, and I’m wondering if anyone else is going through the same thing?

I get it. What did you study? Maybe there’s something specific that’s causing trouble in your job search. It might help if we knew more details about what kind of jobs you’re aiming for.

I think your post is a bit unclear. Can you explain a bit more about your situation?

Don’t give up! I know people who have waited months, even a year, to find a job. It’s tough, but you’ve got to keep pushing through.

That sounds rough! What kind of work was your friend looking for?

@lindah
Almost all fields are tough right now, but IT and computer science are hit especially hard.

Is it because of high interest rates or something else?

Yeah, interest rates play a part, but hiring processes are just really bad at the moment.

One friend was in marketing, the other in corporate HR after getting a master’s in psychology. Both had years of experience and still struggled after getting laid off.

That’s surprising! I thought people with advanced degrees had an easier time landing jobs.

You aren’t automatically guaranteed a job just because you went to school. Focus on improving yourself and get any job for now to keep up with bills while you continue your search.

Sadly, that’s not always realistic. Sometimes, once you take a lower-paying job, people don’t see you as qualified for higher roles anymore, especially in certain fields.

@Tony1
Does it matter if you’re paying your bills and gaining experience?

The problem is, some jobs, like fast food, don’t count as relevant work experience for more specialized roles. It leaves you with a gap on your résumé that can hurt your chances later.

It’s not like we should be grateful for scraping by. Life shouldn’t be about just surviving.

This doesn’t seem like the right forum for this kind of post.

No, it’s more that this forum focuses on the policies and politics affecting education, not job searches.

@BookwormBard
But finding a job after finishing school is closely linked to the politics of education, especially when it comes to the economics behind it.

Your original post didn’t even make it clear you were looking for a job in education. It came off as very vague.
