Why did you choose to pursue a career as an educator?

Did you enter the field immediately after graduating from college at 23, or did you change careers? What prompted your decision? Was it as you expected?

(I was a career switcher, transitioning from health care to education at 33. I believed I could make a difference. It wasn’t what I expected - I would like to hear other people’s perspectives on this.

Hi, I chose to pursue a career as an educator to inspire and empower others, share my passion for learning, and make a positive impact on students’ lives. Education fosters growth, curiosity, and critical thinking.

I chose to pursue a career as an educator to inspire and guide students, foster a love for learning, and contribute to their personal and intellectual growth. Teaching allows me to make a meaningful impact on future generations.

Choosing education as my career has been my dream since childhood.

I’ve always enjoyed assisting others. I had a hunch that being a teacher would enable me to do this. Once I became a teacher, I knew I had made the right decision. The plus of being around youthful, eager people just made things better.
