This place was once home to a third grade teacher. I would like to add a word of caution: don’t restrict your kid to literature within this range alone. The student’s current ability level is indicated by these findings, but improvement is impossible without hard work.
Do you have time to read a more sophisticated material aloud in pairs or under guidance? These would be books on the same level as Beverly Cleary or Judy Blume. By sharing books, you can give students a decent challenge without making them detest reading for pleasure.
