Seeking Recommendations for Global EdTech Conferences

Hello everyone, I’m exploring major EdTech conferences and would appreciate your recommendations. I’m particularly interested in conferences that feature discussions on AI, personalized learning, best practices from educators and administrators, and regional applications of EdTech. It would be a bonus if the conference includes exhibitions by leading software providers. I’m based in Asia but open to attending conferences in the UK, US, or elsewhere. If you’ve attended a significant EdTech conference, I’d love to hear about your experiences and get some advice. Thank you in advance for your suggestions! Note: I’m looking for conferences happening anytime in Q4 2024 or in 2025.

I haven’t attended, but the FETC in Florida happens mid-January and they’ve recently announced their sessions. It’s not clear if it’s more for K-12 or includes higher education as well. I considered going but didn’t find enough relevant sessions.

@Lilly
I’ve attended FETC and it’s quite informative. A colleague of mine went last year and gained valuable insights into AI applications in education.

Consider FETC in Florida in January, TCEA in Texas in February, and ISTE which will be in Texas this June.

You might find this thread on EdTech conferences useful: https://www.reddit.com/r/edtech/comments/1f7089p/edtech_trade_showsconferences/

TCEA is an excellent choice and will take place in Austin in 2025, moving to San Antonio the following year. Here’s more info: https://convention.tcea.org/

Recent LMS conferences have heavily featured AI. Platforms like Canvas and D2L are integrating AI tools. I recommend attending these, although they might be less relevant if you don’t use these platforms. Phil Hill’s conference summaries on onedtech are also a great resource.

The AECT conference in Kansas City is happening soon, with both in-person and virtual options starting this week. It seems to align with your interests.

Consider the BETT conference in the UK and Educ@tech in France.

You might want to check out Educause.

I research learning methods in Southeast Asia and often learn from visiting local student hangouts near universities. Talking directly to students gives great insights into effective educational tools and methods.

@helon
That’s fascinating. If you have any published work or documentation on your findings, I would be very interested in reading it.

The ACAMIS tech conference is happening this month in Hong Kong.

GESS in the UAE is another good option.

BETT in London is in January.

The EdTech Leadership Alliance (ETLA) conference is in Columbus, Ohio this month.

I go to EdTech Austria annually. It’s a smaller conference but very focused on the local EdTech scene.

Look into events related to QS!

Check out ISTE, FETC, Edutech, Educause, and BETT. Educause is happening soon in Texas this October.

You’ve missed some big ones in Australia like EDUtech and ITSE live. However, EDUtech is in Sydney next year, and ITSE live will be in Texas.
