I’ve always loved using Quizlet for vocabulary instruction with my students, but due to their non-compliance with New York State Ed Law 2-D, we can no longer use it. Does anyone have suggestions for alternatives that offer similar features?
What’s the New York law? We’re building an app for students with similar features called CourseFeed.

As a teacher, I use Quizlet, Flippity, and StudyStack. As a student, I used Anki.
You might want to try Knowt. It’s a good alternative.

Knowt looks similar to Quizlet, which I like. Have you used it for creating study sets for students?

I haven’t used it extensively, but it’s great for quick study decks. The interface is intuitive, and if you can afford it, the AI features are a real time-saver.
Check out OpenClass.ai as an alternative.
I’m a founder of Faabul.com. We offer live quizzes, and we don’t save any user data. No student accounts are needed either. Hope this helps!
Hope that made your day. It’s just as easy to be helpful as it is to be obnoxious.

The first two results answer your question exactly. I’m sorry you expect us to do all the work for you, but you can meet me halfway.

On the contrary, I expect educators to share their experiences. Reddit is a platform for discussion, not a place to be patronizing towards those looking for advice.

Have you checked out Flocabulary?
@SophiaMartinez
I’ve used it for homework assignments, but I’m looking for something more flexible, like Quizlet, that allows students to review vocabulary independently without making it an assignment.
Quizizz is another option. It’s like a gamified Quizlet on steroids.

I love Quizizz. We just upgraded to the premium version, and it’s fantastic. But unfortunately, it doesn’t have a pure flashcard feature like Quizlet.
Here’s a comparison chart made by Quizlet’s competitor, which might be helpful: Everycards vs Anki, Kahoot! and Quizlet iPhone/iPad apps. Unfortunately, Everycards only works on iPads and iPhones right now.

Everycards could work for us since we use iPads in a 1:1 program.

Great! They’re very responsive to questions, and it’s now my favorite app. By the way, Everycards is free on the 1st of every month with no ads: No. More. Excuses. | Everycards.
