Looking for video hosting alternatives to YouTube... any suggestions?

We’re a small team looking to integrate a seamless video hosting platform into our site, focusing on membership-only content while keeping costs down. Any good recommendations that blend well with a website and are easy to manage?

Vimeo is quite popular, especially among EdTech platforms, because it integrates easily with various services.

Have you checked out Vimeo’s hosting plans? They might have what you need; they’re reliable.

Vimeo also offers some solid privacy and membership features that could be useful for your project.

That sounds like it could work. Thanks for the tip!

Kaltura offers robust features but it’s on the pricier side.

Panopto is another good but costly option.

We’re also considering adding live streaming features later on. Testing out Switcher currently.

Switcher Studio is great for live streaming, and Kajabi might be another platform to consider. Both have trial periods.

I’d still recommend giving Vimeo a shot for its all-around capabilities.

Check out Eduvision from JDL Horizons, especially for educational content. They have great features and API integration. More info here: https://jdlhorizons.com/

If you’re technically inclined, you might want to look into my open-source project on GitHub: GitHub - superstreamerapp/superstreamer: An open, scalable, online streaming setup. All-in-one toolkit from ingest to adaptive video playback. Built for developers in need of video tooling.. It’s affordable to run on platforms like Cloudflare R2.

What’s your usage looking like? Depending on the volume of videos and bandwidth, there might be cost-effective caching solutions to pair with a core video service.

Streamyard has been excellent for my streaming needs!

Mux is another great platform that’s easy for both developers and non-tech-savvy users.
