A teacher doesn’t need to know everything about every subject. I can teach anything I learn because teaching is a skill. A good teacher can explain complex subjects, even ones they learned later. If someone knows a lot but doesn’t know how to teach, they’re not a good teacher.

My point is, teacher pay is bad, so we don’t get good teachers. Why would a skilled coder want to make $30k a year as a teacher when they can make $150k as a coder?
Are you saying a good English teacher could teach math better than an average math teacher who doesn’t know how to teach?

A good teacher can teach anything they learn. So yes, a good English teacher who learns math could teach math better than someone who knows math but doesn’t know how to teach.
