How much do principals and vice principals make?

What is the salary range for principals and vice principals?

Principals and vice principals on EDUCATIONFOLKS, what is your salary? I’ve heard that in Los Angeles, it can be as much as $180k per year. I’m currently in high school and am very interested in a career in education.

Any insights about this…?

Florida Elementary Assistant Principal - $75k. You could earn $75k in a less stressful job.

I’m a Principal at a small private high school near Chicago, and my salary is just over $100k. If you’re considering this role solely for the financial reward, you might not last. It’s essential to have a genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to improving your staff, students, and school.

$138k. No, we don’t get summers off, and with the hours we work, it averages out to about $5 per hour. :wink: Administrators definitely earn every penny.

True, but teachers who choose to teach summer school, doctors, police officers, and engineers don’t have summers off either. At least you get holidays and weekends.
