Does anyone work at a BASIS school? How do you like it?

Hi guys,

I’ve recently received an offer from BASIS Charter Schools, and I’ve come across varied opinions about working there as a faculty member. Can anyone who has personal experience with BASIS share their story?

It is said to be heavily test-focused. In my opinion, quizzes and tests account for roughly 90% of a student’s grade, and instructors are judged on how well their pupils perform on school assessments.

Because of the emphasis on testing, some of the teachers who taught at Basis have jumped over to my charter network, which is a competitor of theirs.

The lesson plans are provided as PowerPoints to teachers, and you are free to choose how to present the material.

Hello there, I work at Basis. It’s dreadful. Long hours. Little pay. False acting management. Constant guilt trip over not wanting to spend every waking hour to the job. I can’t say the same for every school, except mine. I can’t wait to go out.
