High schools in Greensboro, NC, have later start times.
I think later start times are more common in IB (International Baccalaureate) schools.
In Escambia County, FL, middle schools start after 9 and end after 4.
Chesapeake, VA, schools start around 8:45 and end around 3:45.
Some schools in Philadelphia start later too.
In my district in ME, elementary starts early (7:45), while middle and high school start closer to 8:30 or 8:45 to work with bus schedules.
Maryland has some schools with later start times as well.
My middle school in Florida started closer to 9, but my high school started super early, like 7:30.
Newton, MA high schools start at 8:55 and end at 3:45.
After COVID, our school tried 9:45-4:15, but it was rough, so we stopped. Not sure if this helps, but maybe it provides some perspective.
Alternative high schools often start later and have shorter days. It could be worth looking into if traditional hours aren’t working.
Henrico County, near Richmond, VA, runs from 9 to 4.

Our middle schools in upstate NY start at 8:50 and end at 3:35, but high schools are on an earlier schedule.
Where I live, schools start at 8:40 and end at 4:00 for students.
I’m in Texas, but here, all high schools run 9-4, and some middle schools too. Elementary and PK-8 campuses are generally 8-3:15.

Which district are you in? I heard some San Antonio schools start later.
