Coach for Instruction and Linguistic Expert

For background, I am an ELA teacher entering my third year of middle school and my fifth year of teaching. In addition, I’m working on a master’s in rhetoric and composition.

My professional goals are to work in K–12 linguistic specialized or instructional coaching when I graduate.

What does a normal day entail for someone who has worked either of these roles?

In my large school district, specialists for areas like language, reading, and hearing would travel between schools in their cars, working with just one or two kids at a time for about an hour. We teachers referred to them as “Ghost teachers” because we rarely saw or interacted with them.
