Capella University Reviews?

Hello guys…

I’m considering enrolling in an online degree program at Capella University, but I want to make sure it’s the right fit for me. I’ve read a few reviews online, but I’m looking for more firsthand experiences. If anyone here has attended Capella University, could you share your thoughts?

Here are a few specific things I’m curious about:

  1. Quality of Education: How would you rate the quality of the education and the curriculum? Were the courses challenging and engaging?
  2. Flexibility: How flexible is the schedule? Were you able to balance your studies with work or other commitments?
  3. Support Services: Did you find the support services (academic advising, tech support, career services) helpful?
  4. Overall Experience: How was your overall experience, and would you recommend Capella University to others?

Thanks in advance.

I completed my doctorate through Capella University’s online program, and it is reputable. Although it was pricier compared to traditional on-campus institutions—likely due to the relatively new nature of online learning back in 2012—the program offered rigorous coursework and excellent support. I valued the flexibility it provided, allowing me to work during the day, spend evenings with my young family, and then focus on my courses and dissertation after everyone was asleep.

I’m currently in the first course and have only just started, but I’m already shocked at how helpful Capella has been. We can use a plethora of resources, which guarantees our success. I was a little hesitant to come here since I knew there was a lot of negative discussion about it, but it fits my schedule and my needs. Don’t listen to other people; follow your instincts and make the greatest decisions for your lifestyle.

No one will criticize you for earning a graduate degree. People that are jealous of your achievement or who despise it will be the ones to bring negativity.
Since it’s a for-profit institution, the cost is higher, but once more, you have to do what’s best for you. They offer a variety of grants and scholarships, and because I applied for one in less than two minutes, I was granted a $20k scholarship for the first year, thereby covering the cost of my education. When I questioned why I was picked, they responded that nobody ever applies since they don’t think they’d be selected.

Indeed, Capella is a fraud, sadly. It appears official and “real” due to their website and language, however it is most definitely not. It does not grant you any accreditation or license to practice any profession. I suggest that you DO NOT go. I hope to hear better news soon; best of luck!
