Are BS Admin/BBAs useless?

I’m wondering if getting a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BBA) or Business Management is a worthwhile degree. I initially thought it was a solid choice, but I’m starting to see opinions suggesting it might not be as valuable as I thought. I’m currently working as a DoD contractor and considering that I need a degree eventually, I’m debating whether the BBA is a good fit.

I’m interested in fields like insurance and finance, but I’m also not great with math, especially subjects like calculus. I’ve heard that a BBA typically involves less math than a BS in Finance. Given my situation, is a BBA a sensible choice, or am I potentially wasting my money? What are the real-world benefits of a BBA compared to other business-related degrees?

I totally get your dilemma. I had a similar thought about a BBA when I was considering my next steps. I ended up going for it and can say it’s pretty solid, especially if you’re not a math whiz. It’s more about the broader business skills and less about crunching numbers, which fits your situation well.

Its value depends on your college experience. If you didn’t build connections while in school, it might not be as helpful.

A BBA is not always a terrible thing, but if you believe that learning stops once you graduate, you could easily end up wasting your money.
